Time to Salsa

Tucking in ... A few members volunteered to prepare a Mexican homemade dinner for all those who love tortillas, tacos, fajitas, chilli con carne, guacamole, salsa, and many more. It was fun, with Mexican music, margaritas, tequila and Corona. Tolhurst Organic kindly offered their place at the Hardwick walled garden and the weather allowed us to dine outside in the beautiful setting.

Liz Wilding brought along a small show of all possible shapes and shades of chilli, Muryel made about 3kg of guacamole, to go with Tony’s case of Corona and Liz’s home-made (real Mexican, with lard) tortillas. This was all on the top of Tamara’s taco shells, rice, home-made baked beans, chilli-non-carne, fajitas, salad and salsa. But the peak of the dinner were Liz’s chocolate chillis. Liz did well with the chocolate chillis, “just remembers” Geoffrey, after a number of tequila shots, ritually raised with salt and lime.
