Oxford sausage - should it go into the Ark of Taste?
we had the BBQ wonderfully orchestrated by Ian and Ruth:
3 sausages, 2 butchers and 1 Ian, 3 recipes, 3 different appearances, 3 remarquably different taste and texture
worth saving: definitely, especially now that you can find veal that meets animal welfare requirements!
please share your knowledge on the matter: the butcher that still does it, the recipes you've heard of, the restaurants that would serve it...
Celebrate MFK Fisher - BBQ and readings at the Summertown wine coffee, 27/08/08, 7:30pm
The next book club meeting combines a discussion of MFK Fisher's The Gastronomical Me with the Summertown Wine Café's Summer Barbecue, featuring a selection of BBQ meats and salads for £10. We look forward to seeing new and old book club members for a relaxed and informative meeting. The BBQ is optional for those without a big appetite.
Oxford Symposium

Dear Slow Food Oxon members
In these times of extreme concern regarding our ability to feed the planet, it is crucial that we defend and promote the "Good, Clean and Fair "Slow Food motto We are all doing our piece at an individual level but remember that as a group we can be stronger!
What's below touches on pleasure of food, as well as supporting our local agricultural community. More than ever we need your support, your involvement and your input in enabling significant changes in our food systems.
Oxford Sausage BBQ
BBQ featuring the Oxford Sausage (SF Oxon nomination for the Ark of Taste).
The BBQ will be held at the old ISIS Hotel at along the tow path at
Iffley Lock. People can drive to Iffely part near lock and walk acrsoos
the Thames to get there, they can cycle/walk along the tow path from
oxford or they can catch one of Salters boats to iffely lock for a
gentle ride along the Thames.
